Understanding Basic Life Support, CPR, and First-Aid Course

The AHA guidelines for children are between the ages of 1 and 8 years. Children go through the same process as adults, with a few differences.

Make sure you have performed CPR before calling 112. The ratio of chest compressions to respiration is 30:2. Observe, listen, and feel the breath. Make sure nothing is blocking the airway. Squeeze your nose and do the task of breathing.

You can opt for CPR Aed and first aid certification course at https://americancprinstitute.com/online-first-aid-cert.

Check if the patient is conscious by shouting "Are you all right?" several times. If the patient does not respond, call 112  immediately. Then do C-A-B. Circulation – use 2 hands for chest compressions at a rate of 100 beats per minute – 30 compressions, then mouth to mouth. Breathing – tilt your head back and listen for the breath, then look for answers.

Breathe – mouth to mouth – pinch your nose, cover the patient's mouth with your mouth and take one breath to check if the patient's chest is swollen. Otherwise, perform the airway technique until the chest swells. 2 breaths every 30 chest compressions – every 1-second breath.

-Burns vary depending on the degree of burn of the patient. Remember that there are 3 categories – degree 1, degree 2, and degree 3.

Treatment: Keep the burn cool. Treat burns with ointments. Wrap the burn to avoid infection. Do the same with 2nd-degree burns. For third-degree burns: DO NOT remove material from the patient. Elevate the burned body part above the heart to increase blood pressure and reduce pain. Cover the burn with a damp cloth.
