Proper Body Piercing Aftercare

Additional piercing treatment should be taken as seriously as tattoo treatment. Your piercing requires dedication, if you relax after the treatment, you can cause a serious infection and have to remove the jewelry.

Most piercings, such as tattoo artists, will provide you with a replacement kit or have several products you can purchase. Most piercing aftercare spray includes H2Ocean which is sterile and safe for the environment.

It is available in the form of a paste for subsequent tattoo treatment and the form of a piercing spray. The items you will need are as follows:

* H2ocean or other approved antibacterial and antimicrobial liquid soap

* Cotton balls or cotton swabs

* Small disposable cups

* Paper towel or clean cloth

When cleaning your piercing, you must wash your hands thoroughly first (2 minutes), NEVER touch your piercing or jewelry with dirty hands. Then you need to soak the puncture site with H2ocean, if you use soap you need to soak a cotton swab or cotton ball in warm water.

Gently wipe away any dried blood or plasma that has accumulated around the piercing. Then you need to move the piercing in and out slowly to make sure it cleans well. Rinse any areas of soap, then dry with a paper towel or soft clean cloth.
