Dental Bridge And Its Benefits

A bridge is a false tooth that's custom-made for patients that are missing a tooth or teeth which provides them a natural looking smile. The tooth bridge is anchored to the adjacent tooth from the missing tooth.

There are currently three commonly used dental bridges that patients and specialists can choose from:

Fixed Bridge – Fixed bridges fill the gaps by connecting the denture between two crowns of the tooth. Crowns are used to support the bridges and are attached to the adjacent teeth so that the denture looks and feels natural in the space. The bridge remains immovable.

Maryland Bridges  – These  Bridges are usually used for the front teeth because they don't put as much stress on the teeth as the back teeth, which are most commonly used for chewing. The maryland bridge that is attached to the denture and glued to adjacent teeth on either side of the gap.

Cantilever Bridge – Cantilever bridges are also placed by connecting them to adjacent teeth, similar to fixed bridges. However, the cantilever bridge is connected to only one tooth. It is mainly used when there are no teeth on either side of the gap.
