How To Use An Ice Pack For Shoulder Pain Relief

Shoulder pain can be quite debilitating and uncomfortable. Fortunately, there are many ways to manage and relieve pain without the need for medication. One popular and effective solution is using an ice pack for shoulders. It can be used to reduce inflammation, reduce muscle spasms and numb the area to reduce pain.

Here’s how to use an ice pack for shoulder pain relief:

First, you’ll want to find a comfortable and safe position to lie in. Place a pillow under your neck and one under your arm to support your shoulder. Place the ice pack onto your shoulder and wrap it up in a towel. This will ensure that the pack won’t cause frostbite.

Next, apply the ice pack for 15 minutes at a time, with a break of 15 minutes in between. Be sure to stop immediately if you experience any discomfort. The area may become numb and that is perfectly normal.

Once you’re done, remove the ice pack and gently massage the area to help with circulation. You can also use a heating pad on the area if you’d like.
